What is water yoke?

A water yoke is traditionally used to carry water from a well or other source to a designated destination. It consists of a wooden or metal frame with two buckets or containers placed on either end, which are suspended from a yoke that rests on the shoulders of a person or animal. This device has been used for centuries in many parts of the world to transport water for various purposes. While it is still used in some rural areas today, it has largely been replaced by more modern methods of water transportation, such as pipes and pumps.
